Congratulations, you made it to Make Money Mondays!
That means this is either your first time here or you’ve been anxiously awaiting today just as I have. As promised, I pulled from my treasure chest this morning not knowing what to expect and what do you know - it was information from the Focus: Hope Volunteer Department.
I was a Social Work intern at Focus: Hope in the human resources department, Children’s Center, and also in the Pack & Deliver food center. If you’re born and raised in Detroit, you know all about how Focus Hope provides over 42,000 seniors with nutritionally balanced food each month. Volunteers come from all over the state to help with shopping, packing, or delivering meals.
The Focus: Hope Children's Center
Hands down, my favorite place to intern was in the Children’s Center. It takes a special group of people to deal with children from newborn to school age and that’s just who I met while working there. Everyone from the teachers, teaching assistants, and kitchen staff, loved their jobs. They worked as a team, with the parents and family social workers to create the best possible environment for everyone.
There were also a lot of other programs that I didn’t know that FH offered, like truck driving, hi-low driving, CNC operations, industrial robotics, information technologies, and more. Check it out and learn - earn as you learn!
“Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.”
Next up, is a money-making idea, out of this world!
Have you ever had Dinky Donuts? Well, let me tell you where they got the idea. A long time ago there used to be a magazine that had all kinds of small business ideas and franchises in it, I think it was called Small Business Opportunities. My dad and I love this magazine and could hardly wait to get the newest edition when it became available. At some point, the magazine started to publish the same ideas each month, so they must’ve gone out of business. I can’t imagine it was because people were running out of ideas because I’m just 1 person and I have new ideas ALL the time.
Now, in the back of the magazine, there were classified ads and other ideas. That’s where I first came across a company called Lil’ Orbitz. Lil Orbitz sells donut-making equipment that makes the perfect fun size donuts. Prices for the machine and materials range from $8400 up to 23,000 and it’s well worth it!
Take a Look at These Tasty Profits...
Let's say you placed your machine or new food truck in a good traffic location or even cooked them up and in your own kitchen and operated at full speed for 2 hours, selling all the mini-donuts you produced.
Sales: 2400 mini-donuts @ $5.00/doz = $1,000.00
Less Cost of Ingredients: $45.32
Your Gross Profits*$954.68. As much as 95%, or $475.00 per hour!
Sounds tasty right?! But if you’re not ready to invest thousands just yet, here are a few other ways to make money with no money to get started:
Become an affiliate marketer.
Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. So basically, the amount of money you can make is limitless and it's all up to you!
Here are some of the low or no-cost affiliate programs I joined to make some extra cash.
Text Genius Affiliates - pays $10 for every business you sign up. My goal is to get 5 businesses to sign up a day = $50/day x 5 days a week = an extra $250 a week!
Clickbank Affiliates - pay varies depending on the products or services you promote and sell.
Amazon Affiliates - pay a percentage according to the item you promote and sell.
"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:17
Getting started is always the hardest part, so don’t delay. No matter what stage you are at, whether it’s training for your dream career, exploring entrepreneurial options, or just looking to make some extra cash on the side - there’s is something out there waiting for you to step into it!
As always, be prosperous, Love Noel
